Hi all,
Well the budding has continued. After cutting the tree back so hard, my fears have been quelled. The tree has put on a lot of new growth.
I will have to make a decision after I trim the tree if it will fit the competition. I am a little concerned that it may be a little to high. I think the tree has a lot of potential so I don't want to cut it back to just make it fit the competition. I will do some measurements after trimming and see what happens.
Regards Ray

I agree ray, think long and hard about the overall vision for the tree before doing anything drastic to make it fit the rules of the comp.
Very lovely little tree and one I will watch with interest in the future

Hi everyone,
Alas I am going to withdraw this tree. It is coming alone very nicely and I think has the potential to become a nice bonsai. If I try to cut it back to meet the requirements of the competition I fear it may not be the best way to go for the future of the tree. Here are some photos of what it looks like at present.
