Hi Everyone.
I'm a little confused. Last week my Mother-In-Law dropped off some cones and seedlings she said were collected from a park in the Adelaide Hills, and said they were Californian Redwoods (based on a nearby sign).
I took here word for it, but looking up the species on Google the cones don't seem to match the plant, although one of the cones has a stick still attached and they are obviously from the same tree.
Can anyone help? I don't have much experience with Sequoia's
Cheers,
Matt.

Try pseudotsuga menzesii.
Cones and foliage look right for Douglas fir

Re: [ID] Sequoia?
A friend of mine with no Bonsai experience recently acquired one of these, I have never had one myself either.
Are they generally a thirsty species?
Anything else of note for care?
