[Category 1] Callistemon

Post by paul od »

I purchased this tree from a club member in 2006. It was in a large black garden pot. It had been growing in the ground for approximately 15 years before being placed in the pot. It remained in the garden pot until March 2007 when I reduced half the root system by 100mm. Then in April 2007, I reduced the other half by 100mm and placed it in the existing pot. At least half the branches have been removed to where it is today. It has just had a heavy pruning and the root system has been reduced by another 50mm. The tree needs to be re-potted every year as it pushes itself out of the pot within 12 months. It is 800mm wide at the bottom, up to 350mm wide at the top. It is 750mm high and the circumference at the base is 550mm.

Very nice callistemon indeed. What sort of callistemon is it? What colour flowers does it have?
