As stated in the guidelines entrants can get outside help with their entries as long as all hands on work is carried out by the entrant for the duration of the contest and it is documented. We only ask that general chit chat is kept to a minimum in the entry threads so the information easily accessible.

Pity your not planning on entering Antonio :?:

My thoughts exactly... Are we not going to see an entry from Antonio? Surely Mr Stevens has taught him something about Bonsai by now... :!: ;)

i dont wish to enter and commit myself to this competition, however i will be following this competition as best as time allows me.i probably wont comment on all entry's and posts but i am happy to pass on my opinion's where i can and see fit. i will always try to give answers in a way that i think will benefit all of you and this i hope compensates for not posting everyone everytime. good luck to you all and enjoy the journey. well done to all of you who have put in the time to make this happen.;) :D

okay, so let me get this straight:
In this contest I must either already have a literati (for the aged styled section) or I must mosey on down to the local plant emporium (next door neighbours house maybe? j/k) and document my path to converting nursery stock into something that could one day be entered into the aged styled category?

Hi Vice. Our vision of aged is something which has previously been part styled, not necessarily as Literati.

Hey Guys and Gals,
Although we are not perfect we can only keep trying. We are concerned with the Entry threads getting cluttered with discussion. The judges and people looking for information will not want to wade through a bunch of debate. We do not want to limit discussion but where possible please try to keep the discussion in the discussion threads. This is not a perfect solution and I am guilty of it my self such as chatting about Phone calls in my thread today.

The best solution we have come up with so far is that we will routinely clear out the chit chat and debates from each entry thread. Where possible we will give notice so that the entrant (and anyone else for that matter) can save any information that they think they might want to keep.

I would also like to re stress this part of the of the guidelines

Pup Stymie and Leigh have generously offered their time to help Run and Guide us through this endeavour.
It is important to show the utmost respect to any views put forward by them otherwise it may become difficult for them to guide us.

It is a big effort to guide a rowdy bunch like us and having to convince people of what they say just makes it impossible. If one of these guys was giving a demonstration, would you stand up in the middle of the room and ask for proof of what they say? I think not, so please try to show the same respect here.

Thank you.

Ok general warning that we will be doing the first round of clearing unnecessary posts in the entry threads by the end of today. (I hope ;) )

Post that have been deemed to be un necessary have been tagged for removal. Some with a small explanation. It was not an easy job so go easy on me ;)

It is not official yet but we are considering we ask for advice to be given by PM and the entrant put what information they think relevant in their thread. There is some great help coming for the contestants and we want that to continue but we need to stop cluttering up the threads so the judges can do their job.

Your thoughts are welcome?

Why dont we just let the entrants pull together the information at the end of the comp in a new thread titled, "finished tree - BLAH".

This can then be the final post that contains all relevant information and steps to getting to the final vision? That way all the information is stored in case others wish to read it.
